About Nottinghamshire
Located in the East Midlands, Nottinghamshire is one of the
UK’s most significant counties. Renowned for its sporting heritage, Nottinghamshire
is home to Notts
County FC, the first Football League team founded in the world, as well as
the successful Nottingham
Forest FC, conquerors of Europe on more than one occasion.
Football is the main Nottinghamshire sport, with Mansfield
Town FC completing the set. Rugby is played at national level by Nottingham
R.F.C, while Nottinghamshire
County Cricket Club serves the county’s cricketing interests when the
Nottinghamshire weather is suitable. Last but by no means least are the Nottingham
Panthers, the area’s most successful and well supported ice hockey team.
