About Wiltshire
The county of Wiltshire is situated in the South West of
England, comprising chiefly of Chippenham, Marlborough, Salisbury and Swindon,
as well as its county town, Trowbridge. Neighbouring counties include
Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire.
Wiltshire is renowned for containing arguably the most
famous prehistoric site in the world, Stonehenge.
The mystical stone circles on Salisbury Plain attract thousands of visitors
every year, all keen to sample the atmospheric surroundings provided by the
ancient site, estimated to date back to 3100 BC.
