About Stoke
Stoke-on-Trent is a city based in Staffordshire,
a county in England's West Midlands region. It is made up of five key towns: Stoke,
Hanley, Burslem, Tunstall, Longton and Fenton.
Affectionately known as The Potteries thanks to its long-standing ceramic industry,
Stoke-on-Trent attracts people from all over the world who travel to the city to
visit its renowned pottery businesses. The tourist trade alone supports many of
Stoke’s jobs.
Stoke-on-Trent has two professional football clubs –
Stoke City and Port
Vale. Other sports played in the city include cricket, rugby union and
motorcycle speedway.
