I loved him then, our leader, this dark haired dark eyed leather cladded youth in the shape of Doug. I loved him like the girlish dreams of hero's in all those classic books I'd read as I sat alone inside the library. He was Heathcliffe, Rochester and Darcy, all of them together in my dreamy heart.
