About Essex
Essex is a county situated in the East of England,
consisting of Basildon, Southend, Stansted, Colchester, Harlow and Chelmsford,
its county town. Neighbouring counties include Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire
and Suffolk, as well as Greater London.
Essex incorporates Southend, a popular seaside resort famed
for Southend Pier, which is the longest pleasure pier in the world stretching for
more than a mile into the Thames Estuary.
The county’s close proximity to London means it is
accessible from all over the world. People travelling to the area from abroad
will probably choose to land at Stansted
Airport and the county is also fairly near to London Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airport.
