Brixworth Church And White Poppies

White poppies provide the seeds that are sometimes used on a kind of fine white bread called a bloomer. The church was already at Brixworth in time of King Offa, who was the greatest of the early English kings and is at the origin of some of the Arthurian legends. These poppies are probably for food. Poppy seeds on bread can have a mild somniferous effect - they can make you sleepy.

It needed the cloudy backdrop, I thought. You can't plan on something like the crow cawing - it happened like that, giving the whole scene a sinister aspect, although that isn't my view of machinery.
