About Southampton
Southampton is a major port city located on the south coast
of England, and is in close proximity to the beautiful New Forest. Neighbouring cities
include Bournemouth and Portsmouth.The city’s strong maritime tradition is one of its most
important features. The Titanic
sailed from Southampton, which is still a prime ocean liner port, with renowned
vessels Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2) and Queen Mary 2 (QM2) setting sale from here. Southampton also has memorials and exhibitions related to its
nautical past. Historic Southampton property the Wool House has been preserved
as a museum and is known today as the Maritime
Museum, containing relics from Southampton dating back many centuries.
