About Tyne and Wear
Tyne and Wear is a county located in North East England,
consisting of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Sunderland and Gateshead, as well as North
Tyneside and South Tyneside. Northumberland and County Durham border the
county.
The area’s most famous landmark is arguably the Angel
of the North in Gateshead. This grand sculpture is 20 metres high and has
wings spanning 54 metres, attracting thousands of interested visitors every
year.
Other notable landmarks include the historic Tyne Bridge and
the recently constructed Gateshead
Millennium Bridge, the world’s first tilting bridge.
Tyne and Wear property Washington
Old Hall is one of the most well-known residences in Tyne and Wear dating
back to the 17th century. It is famous for being the ancestral home of George
Washington, first President of the United States.
