About West Midlands
Created in 1974, the West Midlands is a huge county, primarily made up of three major cities: Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Coventry. Further noteworthy places in the West Midlands are Sutton Coldfield and Solihull. Dudley, Walsall and West Bromwich fall in an area of the West
Midlands called the 'Black Country'.
No matter what the West Midlands weather throws at them, the county’s emergency services always strive to help the community. The West Midlands Police, West Midlands Fire Service and the West Midlands Ambulance Service help those in need 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
